Bermuda Institute is Hiring a High School Math Teacher!

Bermuda Institute is owned and operated by the Bermuda Conference of Seventh-day Adventists since 1943 and offers grades Pre-K-12 a co-educational program that is aligned with the American system of education. It is supported by eleven constituent churches, a committed school board, and a passionate Conference eager to be a change agent in Bermuda. We are faithfully committed to Adventist Christian Education as shown through excellence and commitment to the vision of the school’s administration and it’s accreditations by AAA and MSA.


Bermuda Institute is seeking the following personnel for the 2022-2023 school year:


HIGH SCHOOL MATH TEACHER


Applicant Requirements:

  • Applicants must love children and be able to foster faith development in students at Bermuda Institute.

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Education together with a teaching certificate;

  • Must have at least three (3) years of teaching Mathematics in the high school grades;

  • Must be proficient in the teaching of Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus/Statistics, and Calculus/AP classes for the high school grades, as well as helping our students achieve mastery as they prepare for the ACT and SAT exams and Dual Enrolment;

  • Must be willing to be a class sponsor, work with the robotics team, implement STREAMS practices, offer tutoring to students as needed, and participate in extracurricular activities.

  • Must be skilled at using appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.

  • Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and have a keen eye for details.

  • Must be experienced in utilizing cutting-edge technologies in a classroom setting.

  • Must be willing to perform morning, homeroom, lunch, after-school, and extracurricular duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

  • Experience working in a multi-grade setting is preferred.


All Teacher applicants must provide the following items:

  • An up-to-date résumé

  • Certified copies of relevant qualifications

  • Copy of a daily lesson plan

  • Copy of current denominational certification and the Bermuda Educators’ Council Licence

  • Three references with email addresses, including one from your current Supervisor and current Pastor


Applicants must be members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in regular standing and be able to foster faith development in students at Bermuda Institute. Applicants must also be willing to comply with Bermuda Institute’s workplace COVID testing policy as a condition of employment. The successful candidate will be expected to provide a recent Police background check and complete SCARS training to demonstrate that they may work in an organization involving children. Salary and benefits are based on the denominational wage scale and policy determinations operating in Bermuda.
